Service Description

BRAND NEW COURSE! Course Time: 8hr (Broken into two days with several breaks) This is a brand new course being offered by the Red Cross. This a great class not only of the new baby sitter, new parent, day care worker, after school care, and many more. The program has been designed for a 11-16 age group to encourage knowledge and skills necessary to provide them childcare and basic first aid basics. But the class is open to anyone who wants to attend, and is encouraged  especially if working with younger children. Some topics covered: . Proper way to pick up and hold infands and toddlers . Bottle feeding . Spoon feeding . Diapering . Bedtime . Safety (Inside and Outside) . Babysitting (Decision Making and Business of planning) . First Aid (Chocking, Bleeding) . Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED ** The pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED can be included and excluded from the course due to age range, time contraints, and other factors. To find the course that excludes this search and choose the Babysitter's Training. The purpose of the CPR portion of this class is to recognize and respond to cardiac emergencies, preform CPR, and early notification of 911.  Students will be presented with several videos and hands-on learning tasks. There will be some "Ready Reference Cards" that will be provided to the students. This can be kept in a binder or referenced when on their baby sitting jobs, ect. Some of these include planning (food time, bed time, approved activities), emergency information. These help students learn what sort of safety questions should be asked when caring for children, and activities that are age approved. Students also have access to the Red Cross Child Care Mobile App. The knowledge and skills learned in the updated Babysitter’s Training r.25 course are supplemented in the app with tools such as interactive quizzes, achievement tracking and a handy records tab for managing important child information.

Due to limited seating, we request that you cancel at least 48 hours before a scheduled class. This gives us the opportunity to fill the class. You may cancel by phone or online here. If you have to cancel your class, we offer you a credit to your account if you cancel before 48 hours, but do not offer refunds. You may use these credits towards any future class.
