Service Description
*Class Structure* Though the class is a required 56 hours. We run the class for 72 hours this will allow for ample skills testing and coverage of the course material. Class will runs 7 days *Class Days* Saturday 8:00am - 12:00pm; lunch; 1:00pm - 8:00pm Sunday 8:00am - 12:00pm; lunch; 1:00pm - 8:00pm *Class Days* 5/3, 5/4, 5/10, 5/17, 5/18, 5/24, 5/25 Emergency Medical Response is a dynamic 56-hour course featuring lecture, video, simulated emergency situations, discussion and hands-on skill practice based on the national EMS curriculum requirements and educational standards. While Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) does not provide state licensure or certification as an Emergency Medical Responder, this course is ideal for people wanting to receive training similar to the training EMS professionals receive as they look to enter careers in healthcare, public safety, or law enforcement, trail guides, ski patrol, overlanders, ect. Audience Professionals in emergency medical care who may be responsible for initial assessments, the provision of safe and prudent care, and the transport of a patient to the most appropriate healthcare facility. *Prerequisites* Participant must be certified in Standard First Aid with CPR level C. *Completion* Successfully demonstrate the required skills Minimum 75% mark for written, closed book, knowledge evaluation Successfully complete two evaluated scenarios (one medical and one trauma) Attend and participate in 100% of the course *Certification * 3-year certification in Emergency Medical Responder (digital certificate issued upon successful completion) *Course Content* Responding to the call Infection prevention and control Anatomy and physiology Assessment Airway management and respiratory emergences Circulatory emergencies Shock Hemorrhage and soft tissue trauma Musculoskeletal injuries Chest, abdominal and pelvic injuries Head and spinal injuries Acute and chronic illnesses Poisoning Environmental illnesses Pregnancy, labour and delivery Special populations Crisis intervention Reaching, lifting and extricating patients Transportation Multiple-casualty incidents Pharmacology Marine environment Workplace Includes any other content required by specific legislation *Participant Materials * Red Cross Emergency Care for Professional Responders Reference Text Red Cross Emergency Care for Professional Responders Workbook (optional)

Due to limited seating, we request that you cancel at least 48 hours before a scheduled class. This gives us the opportunity to fill the class. You may cancel by phone or online here. If you have to cancel your class, we offer you a credit to your account if you cancel before 48 hours, but do not offer refunds. You may use these credits towards any future class.
